All of recorded history has been punctuated by revolutions, both violent and non-violent. In modern times alone, we have had a social, cultural, industrial, and scientific revolutions, to say nothing of numerous political revolutions. Broadly defined, revolution is "a dramatic and wide-reaching change in the way something works or is organized or in people's ideas about it." In a sense, there is no higher calling in human nature than this: to throw off the yoke of status quo and strive towards a higher existence. In that light, it seems inevitable that every so often people would feel the combined pressure of stagnation and act on the basic human need expand the realm of possibilities before them.
This site is dedicated to a new revolution--a revolution of consciousness and experience. The tools of the revolution are personal discovery, fearless exploration of truth, and the courage to manifest radical change in one's self and in the world. My objective in posting this blog is to explore some of the ideas and experiences that I encounter in my own journey to find and live truth. In doing so, I hope to help incite the consciousness revolution on three levels.
Revolution within the consciousness occurs when the individual begins to detach from the security of indoctrinated belief and spends more time exploring the nature on one's existence. As the mind dwells more around the tension between faith and questioning, the consciousness expands to accept a larger portion of truth. The effect of this is profound: truth unfolds of its own accord and the nature of truth becomes clear.
As consciousness expands and becomes more integrated with the human mind, we are able to transcend the limitations of conditioned existence. Living mindfully, as the Buddha called it. When this occurs, we realize that we are one with the universe, sharing in its creative power. The mirror flips around and we see that we ourselves and the world around us are only reflections of our true nature and intention, of which we are in control.
These first two revolutions, experienced on a broad scale, would constitute nothing less than a revolution of the human condition. I don't believe the world's problems can be solved by dwelling on the world's problems. But I do believe the world's potential can be manifested by directing our intentions towards what we want it to be. A collective awakening of our individual potential would allow the world to realize its higher potential.
I encourage you to let go of your preconceived notions when you visit. Explore with me and post your own thoughts. I am not here to ask you to change anything you believe or anything about yourself. I only ask you to open your mind to the possibility that there is more to the human potential than we have yet discovered.
